Welcome to W3LTFRIEDEN

W3ltfrieden e.V. is an association for peaceful coexistence, independent of political and religious affiliations. We connect people and build a platform where the wish for peace becomes concrete projects people can work on together.

Infrastructure for peaceful action

Together we make peace something we can shape

At W3ltfrieden, you can use your skills, time and ideas to help people live together peacefully. Start your own peace mission or contribute to an existing one. Your support helps us expand the shared infrastructure for peace missions.

Peace mission bot

This is how the wish for peace becomes shared action

W3ltfrieden connects people, ideas, responsibility and support in one clear structure. These six elements show you how to get in and help shape what comes of it.

  • Pioneers

Anyone who registers with W3ltfrieden becomes a pioneer. Pioneers start peace missions, work in mission teams, offer help and share what they learn in the mission logbook.

  • Peace mission bot

The peace mission bot helps pioneers translate their own potential, skills and passions into a concrete mission draft. Anyone who would rather join an existing mission finds the undertakings that fit through the platform.

  • Peace missions

Peace missions are concrete projects for peace or sustainability. Pioneers start them, carry them out together and have them reviewed by transparent rules.

  • Ethics bot

The ethics bot reviews peace missions against the W3ltfrieden ethical basis, which joins the UN human rights with the hacker ethic, and flags conflicts for human moderation. The final decision always rests with a person.

  • Mission overview and marketplace

The mission overview shows published missions, active and completed. The marketplace lifts out the ones currently looking for help. There pioneers can browse, discover the range and the effect, and volunteer through “Offer help”.

  • Logbook and public feed

In the mission logbook, teams document progress and results. The public feed collects those entries, so that what was tried, learned and achieved becomes visible.

Spent transparently. On technology, security and getting the first missions started.

Help us build the infrastructure for the first missions

W3ltfrieden is in its build-up phase. Your donation helps us develop the platform safely, build the peace mission bot responsibly, and review the first missions by hand and make them visible.

Your first mission draft

Five questions. One concrete proposal you can take further

You describe briefly what you can bring and what is on your mind. The bot orders what you wrote and turns it into a first mission draft. The test takes about two minutes. Keywords are enough. Nothing is published or submitted while you are testing.

Short, honest answers help more than perfect phrasing. You can pick a suggestion or type your own keywords.

What world peace means

World peace sounds like a state that either exists or does not. Peace research treats it as something else: the result of conditions people can build. Those conditions are what W3ltfrieden works on.

Two kinds of peace after Galtung

In 1969 the Norwegian peace researcher Johan Galtung drew a distinction that still underpins the field. Negative peace means no direct violence is taking place: the weapons are silent. Positive peace means more than that, namely that the conditions violence grows out of are absent too. Access to education, institutions that work, fair distribution, and a way to hold a conflict without anyone getting hurt.

The difference is practical, not academic. A ceasefire ends fighting; it does not resolve a conflict. Positive peace describes the work that starts afterwards, and it consists of many small, checkable steps. World peace in that sense is not an end state somebody declares one day, but the sum of those steps.

Why peace can be shaped

History knows many wars that ended through negotiation rather than exhaustion. The Peace of Westphalia, the Congress of Vienna, the Good Friday Agreement: each was the result of people sitting at a table and agreeing on rules. None was inevitable, none was a given, and each had to be negotiated the hard way.

That is not a promise that every conflict can be solved. It is something more sober: peace is not an accident but the result of decisions. Take that seriously and the question stops being whether world peace is possible and becomes which step comes next, and who takes it.

How wars ended at the negotiating table

What a peace mission is

A peace mission on W3ltfrieden is a published undertaking with a person responsible for it, a checkable goal and a course of events others can read. It might be a neighbourhood project, a translation, a school lesson, mediation between two groups that have stopped talking to each other.

What matters is what a mission is not: neither a statement of intent nor a fundraising appeal. It says what is being done, by whom and by when, and afterwards it documents what came of it. Publication is neither a guarantee of impact nor a blanket endorsement.

What part the technology plays

W3ltfrieden works with artificial intelligence, in a clearly bounded role. The peace mission bot asks five questions about your time, your skills, what matters to you, where you are and who you know, and turns the answers into a draft. An ethics bot pre-checks submissions and raises points for the human moderators.

The boundary is written into the association's ethics charter and holds without exception: no bot submits a mission, no bot publishes one, no bot decides about people. What a human has to decide, a human decides.

What you can do yourself

With the sixteenth Sustainable Development Goal, the United Nations set down that peace, justice and strong institutions belong together. States work at that level. Below it lies a second one, where individual people work: in a neighbourhood, a school, a club, in an argument of their own.

W3ltfrieden starts at that second level. You answer five questions, develop the proposal, publish it and carry it out together with others. Anyone who would rather not start a mission can support a running one, with time, skill, reach or money.
